Introduction – The Astrology of Time
The ancient Maya and Aztec astrologers studied the mysterious influence of the rhythms of the sky on earthly life. Everyone knows the Sun rises and sets every day — this is the basic rhythm of life around which we set our clocks and calendars. What the ancient astrologers discovered was that other time cycles existed that were multiples of this basic day cycle. This fact was discovered about 100 years ago in Europe and these cycles (there are many of them) are now called biorhythms.
The most important time cycles in ancient Mayan and Aztec astrology are those of the day, 9-days, 13-days, and 20-days. Additionally, years are counted also, in groups of 4 and 13. Each day is then part of several other cycles, so no two days are exactly the same. Your Maya/Aztec horoscope below shows exactly where in each of the cycles you were born. Each category below examines a specific cycle and a specific aspect of your personality. Keep in mind that our personalities are complex and contain many contradictions. All of us present a different “face” depending on who we meet. The delineations below will reflect this, but they will also give you a clear picture of who you really are. The true value of astrology lies in self-knowledge, the first step to wisdom.

Your Most Personal Traits — The Day-Sign of Your Birth
Here are your strongest and most obvious personality traits. The delineation below describes who you are and how you appear to others, at least on the surface. In Aztec astrology this part of is your horoscope is your Tonalli, or Day-Sign, the form bestowed upon you by the Sun.
Alligator: You are a busy person, often constantly working to maintain the emotional integrity of your world. You relate to the world around you primarily through your feelings, not so much through intellect. Because of this, you can be quite reactive to any changes taking place around you and frequently rush in to keep the “dam from breaking,” so-to-speak.

Your instincts are unusually strong. Besides a powerful maternal instinct, you may also be genuinely psychic. You tend to be attracted to the psychic sciences or future sciences such as astrology, tarot, and metaphysics. When you follow your hunches, you are nearly always successful in whatever you attempt.

Alligator types are also extremely sensitive and touchy. You may have a terrible time taking criticism and tend to be defensive. On the other hand, you can be among the most critical and fussy persons known. In your dealings with others, you often put on a tough exterior which protects you from the “dangerous” environment. Like the alligator or crocodile, you can be difficult to live with because of your hard, rough and even prickly, surface. Privacy is necessary for you to recuperate from the stress of maintaining this defensive posture. You need a personal sanctuary of some kind, preferably near the sea or water.

Those who have close relationships with you will notice your tendency to dominate others in a parental way. You have an unusually strong parenting instinct. If you don’t have any children you will seek outlets by establishing nurturing relationships with people, pets, and even plants. The maternal instincts of female Alligator types can be awesome.

It is possible that you feel rejected or criticized by your parents. The feeling, real or imagined, that your parents expect too much of you, or worse, don’t want you, can be a motivation to create your own personal “families.” These may be simply small, but tight-knit group of friends that you put together, or you may actually join in with an existing family. The more enterprising of you Alligator types often create business or professional “families” setting a foundation for later, and larger, enterprises.

Your Deeper Self — The 13-Day Week of Your Birth
Each of us reacts to the world around us in different ways. Our reactions are mostly unconscious; they represent what our deeper self needs. Our reactions both attract and repel us from things, people, and situations. What we like, what we like to do, and who we really are is shown by the 13-day week called the Trecena that we were born under. Each of these periods begins with the number 1 and the name of the day-sign that starts it. A number is attached to your position within the 13-day period that may be an important number for you.
This is the tenth day of the 13-day period beginning with the day-sign 1-Grass. Beneath your surface personality lies a set of conflicting needs. Part of you wants to please, the other is a bit angry about all this compromising that you are expected to do. You have an interest in the deep, dark recesses of the world, the insides of people and other such things, and may do well in a career that allows you to legitmately explore such areas. You tend to be caught up in obligations and the affairs of others, and may have problems sustaining a strong personal center.

Had an experiance last night….My first

I was on the computer last night, suppose to be doing homework but you know how that goes. A friend of mine started talking to me on FB. Background on her. She actually helped me in continuing my conversations with my guides. Being I “wasn’t listening” they were speaking through her. We met under the knowledge of this and we had known each other for years prior and lost contact. Well, we started talking an next thing I know I had no control.
Let me explian, I saw the words being type on the screen by my body, but it wasn’t me typing and the words used were not my nature of speaking. I wasn’t in control of myself or my words. I could see the words being typed but did not read them. MOst like my eyes were being used, but it wasn’t being used by me to see what was being typed or what to type next.
Shortly there after (I guess when the conversation was finished) my head starting spinning and I got a MASSIVE headache. Kind of like what just came up again as I am writing this. I did see that it was my guide speaking to her instead of myself. I had no control nor have I had this happen to me before. Am I going crazy? lol

I know I’m not but it’s wonderful that they are that strong and I am their vessel, or is it? lol I know how fiesty they are so that may not be a good idea…hehehehe

More to come…

Is There a Difference Being… a Psychic, a Medium, a Channeler, a Sensitive, an Empath, an Intuitive or a Clairvoyant? Part 2

Some teachers teach a traditional method where they have their students work directly with various spirit guides, who act sort of as “middlemen”, while other teachers teach an informal, more modern method in which they bypass the “middleman” or “spirit guides” and have their students communicate directly with deceased loved ones.

Information may be received through such means as:

a. Automatic writing/drawing – the medium’s muscle reflexes are manipulated by spirit. In other words, spirit guides the movement of the hand.

b. Clairaudience – hearing words, messages or music, but not through the physical ears or from a physical source

c. Clairsentience – feeling or sensing messages or guidance

d. Clairvoyance – seeing mental pictures, but not through the physical eyes or from a physical source

e. Healing – the medium receives positive energy from a universal divine source (spirit) to heal self or others

f. Inspiration – medium receives sudden ah-hah moments, thoughts or ideas

g. Inspirational writing – spirit supplies information or knowledge for writing material

When professionals purposely chooses to be addressed as a “medium”, most likely they want potential clients to be aware that their prime objective is to connect with deceased loved ones. In other words, a medium primarily connects to deceased loved ones in order to bring forth messages, but not just any message; the medium must also provide proof of source or proof of survival. The medium will describe the deceased person in such a way that it will prove or validate this is really that person or the medium will provide proof that is meaningful to the client (or sitter).

Meanwhile, channelling encompasses a broader spectrum with more open-minded learning techniques. Many will argue that a medium receives information directly from a deceased loved one, thus bypassing the use of the psychic inner senses. Many mediums believe that while they work with spirit guides, channelers do not. Many will argue that while a medium can be a channeler, a channeler cannot be a medium. Many mediums argue that channelers do not work with spirit influence. And so the disagreement between the two representations continues.

A Channeler According to Webster’s dictionary, there isn’t any definition for a channeler, although at Dictionary.com “this is a person that serves as a medium for (a spirit guide).”

Whoa…more confusion to add to the debate. To clarify this further, a channeler works with spirit, but usually doesn’t make a distinction about directly contacting deceased loved ones as does a medium. A channeler’s purpose is really about bringing forth information, but doesn’t focus on precisely how it is obtained. Just like a “medium’” a “channeler” may also go into a light trance state with eyes closed or may prefer to keep their eyes open, while remaining in a slightly altered conscious state of mind and as well, they always have full control over their body.

The word “channeler” is a newer, more modern form of terminology, which is becoming widely accepted in this era. Despite the on-going controversy, there are people who call themselves “a channeler”, but who also connect to deceased loved ones, as well as work with spirit guides, so perhaps they really aren’t so concerned about their title, but rather more concerned about the information they bring forth.

Professionals who choose to call themselves “a channeler” mainly does so because they want the public to be aware that they only act as a conduit or as a channel or vessel for receiving information from the spiritual realm. Generally, they do not purport to bring forth any particular type of information, although some claim to connect and work through a specific entity or spirit guide.

A Sensitive According to Dictionary.com, “this is a person who is sensitive; a person with psychic powers; a medium.”

A sensitive’s dominant inner sense is clairsentience (clear sensing/feeling), but obviously if a sensitive is a person with psychic powers; a medium, according the dictionary interpretation, then the other senses are also used, except they aren’t as noticeable.

As you can see, this is just another play on words relatively meaning the same thing. Using another analogy, you can liken it to the different pronunciation of words such as potato or tomato, depending on your living locality. Does it really matter how it is pronounced, because in reality they are still the same vegetable or fruit?

An Empath According to Dictionary.com, “this is any fictional character that has a paranormal or psychic ability to sense the emotions of others.”

Basically, this is a person who is highly sensitive to picking up or absorbing energy vibrations or information from their environment or from other individuals. Truthfully, this doesn’t sound too much different from “a sensitive.” An empath’s dominant inner sense is clairsentience (clear sensing/feeling), but this doesn’t mean that the other senses are not also used.

An Intuitive According to Webster’s dictionary, “this is a person who immediately knows or understands something without conscious reasoning or without the effort of the mind.”

An intuitive uses the inner sense of claircognizance (clear knowing), where you don’t know why or how you know something, you just do. Some people call this their intuition or gut feeling, while others refer to it as a sixth sense. Again, most likely all the inner senses are utilized with claircognizance being the most dominant. But then there are those who regard “just knowing” as part of clairsentience (clear sensing), which is likely a case of personal interpretation.

Oddly, some people feel that if they refer to themselves as “an intuitive”, this will detract from the fact of how they obtain their information. They seem to think that they won’t be regarded as having “special” powers or that they may be regarded as having “limited” powers.

A Clairvoyant According to Webster’s dictionary, “this is a person held to have the power of clairvoyance (or clear seeing).”

Of course we are all born with this ability, except it is a stronger, more natural inner sense with some people. But upon developing the inner senses through daily practice everyone has the potential to be clairvoyant. Mistakenly, some people seem to forget that clairvoyance is only one out of six natural inner senses that are used when connecting to spirit. Unfortunately, they somehow have a misapprehension that it is some God given special ability.

When someone prefers to call themselves “a clairvoyant”, they most likely want potential clients to realize that they can psychically “see” into the past, present or future. However, this sort of distorts its true meaning in which clairvoyance is one of six natural inner senses depicting “clear seeing” or seeing pictures within your inner eye, also called the “mind’s eye” or “third eye” (not your physical eyes).

In Conclusion The inner senses should never be misconstrued for one being more powerful or better than the other. They are all equally as good and each person will utilize them in their own unique way. The important factor to remember is not which inner sense that you are partial to using, but how well you can use it and for what greater purpose do you use it for.

Apart from “physical mediumship”, I find too many similarities amongst the other titles preventing me from fully discriminating one from the other. The big question remains…..how important is it to use a particular title? Does it make you a more powerful conduit for spirit? Does it make you feel or give you a public image that you are more special than another? Or will it bring you more fame and prosperity? Carefully scrutinize your motives before choosing a title making sure that you are morally and ethically inspired.

And for those who persist in maintaining that there are extensive distinctions among the above, so be it. After-all, you are entitled to your own opinion and reasoning. But be prudent about falling into the trap of thinking or believing that you alone have a significant power or gift that is unequalled by anyone else, because then you will be caught within the grasp of negative-thinking EGO….not a worthy endeavour.

Is There a Difference Being… a Psychic, a Medium, a Channeler, a Sensitive, an Empath, an Intuitive or a Clairvoyant? part 1

There are so many ways to describe a person who, while in an altered state of awareness, uses their natural inner senses to tap into the spiritual realm to receive and decipher information. Unfortunately, it creates much confusion leaving many people scratching their heads wondering how to tell the difference or asking if there is a difference and if so then what the difference is.

Word association is a man-made commodity in which new words are formulated everyday. Therefore, it relies upon personal interpretation, in which you really have to define the importance of why and how you connect with a particular expression or description.

If you browse through advertisements or scan the Internet, you probably have noticed a variety of titles that professionals choose to use. Some call themselves “a sensitive”, “a psychic”, “a channeler”, “an intuitive”, “a medium”, “an empath” or “a clairvoyant” or they may even tack several of these together to add to their title; nothing like too much of a good thing.

No doubt their choice of title is meant to attract a certain clientele, but is it more than that? Can choice also be based on where or how the person was trained or if they are affiliated with the Spiritualist’s movement or simply because they think that one is a grander or more powerful title than the other that signifies greater insight or power?

But no matter what title a professional is attracted to use, ultimately the goal is the same, which is to connect with the spiritual realm in order to receive information, inspirations, higher knowledge or wisdom from a divine universal source. The only difference is defining the person’s intention – why do they want to connect to spirit and what are they doing with information received? Sadly, too much emphasis can be placed on what a person calls themselves, rather than what they are actually trying to achieve. Titles can do wonders for a person’s ego and in our modern day society it seems that many think this defines who they are.

As an example and using your name as an analogy, does it really matter what people address you as, because the bottom line is that you are still the same person, plus you are still part of the human race. In other words, you can use any name you like to describe yourself, but in reality you are still just a human being like everyone else. So the same rule applies for titles….no matter what your title, whether it is simple or influential, beneath it remains the same person.

In this article I endeavour to briefly uncover the mystery surrounding the different classifications or titles. I illustrate terminologies, as depicted by dictionaries, to give you better understanding about the most popular descriptive titles chosen by professionals. Of course, as with any information offered you should always use discretion, as well as maintain an open mind, as you weigh the facts. Keep what works for you and then let the remainder go or better still, continue to investigate to further upgrade and improve your knowledge.

A Psychic According to Webster’s dictionary, “a psychic is a person (as a medium) apparently sensitive to non-physical forces.”

Great, this definition just adds to the confusion. First of all, everyone is born with psychic abilities to varying degrees; therefore, we all can basically call ourselves “psychic.” These are not God-given gifts or special powers, as some are led to believe, but are actually part of our natural human physiology. Our natural inner or psychic senses go beyond our five main physical senses. The only difference is that some are born with well developed inner senses, while others must painstakingly practice to develop them. Also, one inner sense may be more dominant than the others; therefore practice is required to strengthen the weaker ones.

All information received through these inner senses does not come from a physical source; but rather the source is spiritual in nature.

The inner senses that I am referring to are:

1. Clairvoyance – clear seeing

2. Clairsentience – clear sensing/feeling

3. Clairaudience – clear hearing

4. Claircognizance – clear knowing

5. Clairalience (or clairaroma) – clear smelling

6. Clairambience (or clairgustus) – clear tasting

When professionals intentionally choose to call themselves “a psychic”, they possibly want potential clients to think that they are blessed with special powers of insight gifted to them by the universe.

In some cultures it is believed that psychic gifts are handed down from one generation to the next to which the rest of the community are not privy. Alas, this type of outmoded thinking only spawns a demigod status. But then there are those who shy away from using the word psychic because they fear being labelled “weirdo” or having the stigma of a “charlatan” and worst yet, being confused for perhaps being a “witch”; heaven forbid.

A Medium According to Webster’s dictionary, “a medium is a person through whom others seek to communicate with spirits of the dead.”

Mediumship is better known within the circles of the Spiritualist’s movement. While I do not propose to delve into the long history of mediumship dating to the British Isles, here in North America it was first introduced around 1848 in New York State.

The main purpose of a medium is to bring closure and comfort to the bereaved. This is rightly so in instances where a loved one is tragically and suddenly taken, thus leaving an unanswered gap causing insurmountable grief for those left behind.

There is an ongoing debate as to the differences between a channeler and a medium. Although the words are quite often used interchangeably, die-hard mediums will emphatically point out that they are definitely not the same, maintaining that mediumship is a specialty and much harder to learn, plus attain. While this may be true about “physical mediumship”, when it comes to “mental mediumship”, I feel that the gap closes drastically.

When learning mediumship, it is divided into specific classifications, physical and mental, with precise learning techniques for each. Generally you will learn “mental” mediumship before “physical”, that is if you are drawn to learn “physical” at all; it is not everyone’s cup of tea.

Physical Mediumship – this uses a deep, focused trance state (low theta to low delta 4.89 to 3 Hz) in which the medium serves as a temporary vehicle for spirit to communicate. In other words, the medium vacates the physical body to allow spirit to temporarily use it.

Physical mediumship can also encompass phenomena such as:

a. Apportation – the ability to transport or exchange items such as flowers or other objects to or from the spiritual plane

b. Direct voice – spirit communicates through electrical appliances such as the telephone, radio, television, tape recorder or through the voice box of the medium

c. Ectoplasm -a cloudy, odourless, sticky fluid-like substance is dispersed from the medium’s orifices so spirit can appear as a physical form

d. Levitation – furniture, people or objects rise off the floor or float in the air demonstrating spirit’s energy

e. Materialization – spirit or objects from the spiritual realm appear solid to the touch

f. Rapping – spirit communicates by making noises through raps, knocks or bumps on the wall or on furniture

g. Table tipping – a séance table moves or rocks back and forth demonstrating spirit’s energy and communication ability

h. Telekinesis or teleportation – the medium moves objects using mind power

Mental Mediumship – is the more commonly used form of communication where information is received from deceased loves ones. In mental mediumship, a medium may go into a light trance state (low alpha 9.89 to 8.2 Hz) with eyes closed or may prefer to keep their eyes open, while remaining in a slightly altered conscious state of mind. But in all cases the medium remains in full control over their body. It is this type of mediumship that channelling is often interchanged with.

Meeting someone/people new/

What’s intriguing about what I have realized I am capable of is meeting new people, both living and in spirit. Being I am unable to ‘listen’ at this current time, my friend J is my ‘go to’ girl and is MY vessel in talking with spirit until I am able to. She is learning as well as me so it’s great to have someone to learn new things with. She said night before last that every time it is like the first time when they speak. I am hearing the often time piercing ringing in the ears.

Throughout our time, interesting things have happened. I have been able to speak to my G’dad who is VERY picky with who he talks to. He was never one to BELIEVE in the afterlife until he became one. He was a trickster and has done many funny things to my friends who he has spoken with. I have also managed to meet someone who WAS g’dad guide and stepped in one night when g’dad was trying to tell J something, then someone was behind him trying to tell the same thing then she jumped in saying, ‘Look guys, you are telling it wrong’ and pretty much took over. Since then, she has been the strongest spirit.

Other spirits include:

My CH’s sister who seems to want ALL the attention was very arrogant and ‘look at me’ attitude, which she was in life as well.

One of J’s old friends and mine who didn’t realize how ‘cool’ I was and keeps an eye on my son.

Another little girl named Amanda. At first she was speaking of being MY guide for the fact of me being so hyper, an older person would not be able to keep up so they put a 9 yr old with me. Then, after my current guide (who I will explain in a moment) apparently took her place and is now without a living being yet resides watching over my son which I have NO problem with. I hope, being I am beginning to know her, she will be his guide when he gets older, maybe even his ‘imaginary friend’.

Now on to my current and strongest guide Denise. When she stepped in, she was on the other ear of the other spirits (left side) of J and she stated she was in it for me. She is the main guide for me. I asked. She is very feisty, cocky, smart ass everything that I am, like and need to hear in order to pay attention.

I asked many question that I got answers that I really subconsciously already knew. My 3rd eye had been color blind for a while now and I did not know why. She did tell me that because I want to be different I did it to myself which I find hilarious but true. I also found out that I am more powerful then I will ever realize which is hard to believe since I doubt myself so much but I am sure I will prove myself in time.

I’m still searching so we will see….More to come

Are you off-Path?

I found this and wanted to share.  This makes perfect sense and what I have been attempting to explain to people when they feel there is nothing else left.

Are you off Path?

By Sue Frederick, author of Confessions of a Psychic Career Coach

Did you know that you arrived on earth with a built-in GPS device embedded inside of you? You programmed it before you were born. It contains all the directions you’ll ever need in this lifetime. It’s designed to get you dead-on target to your destined great work – the work you came here to do that uses your unique talents to raise the vibration of the planet.
Even when your life feels like it’s not moving forward, like your career is slipping through your fingers, like relationships you used to count on are shifting – you will move through this phase and emerge on the other end with a more powerful direction than ever before. (I promise!)
You’re just getting a little nudge from the universe – because it’s time to get back on-path. Nudging is what’s going on when you get fired, laid off, rejected, hired, promoted, or your business goes bankrupt. You’ve been nudged!
Your life is all on purpose. There are no accidents. Every event, circumstance and relationship has been nudging you to follow your true path and do your great work. We live in a world of constantly changing growth cycles. When you’re done with one cycle of learning, it’s done with you. Move on, so the universe doesn’t have to kick you in the butt…um…nudge you.
Before you were born, your soul knew what it needed to master in order to evolve to its highest good; you knew that evolving your soul would help thousands of people around you. You signed up for this human adventure in order to help all of humanity. You understood that you could choose to live up to your fullest potential, use your divine energy to master circumstances, and use your talents to raise the vibration of the planet through your great work. Or you could give in to depression, sadness, anger, fear, and desperation – and not live up to the powerful divine potential you set for yourself. It would be your choice.

And now – here you are! At the company party, your boss announces they’re downsizing and won’t need your services anymore; your spouse leaves you for a dancer; and your real estate investments flop. Oh well… Say, “Thank you! I must have been really off my true path to get kicked this hard.” Turn around and face forward. Ask, “What do I want my life to look like now?”

Take one step in that new direction. You’ll feel better immediately. When we’ve fallen off of our true path, our loved ones get fed up with us, bosses fire us, co-workers complain about us, and we stop attracting clients and customers.
If you’ve just been nudged, wake up. You’re not a victim. You’re being reminded that you need to go in a direction that’s closer to your true self, your naked self, and the divine work you came here to do. (Listen up now or the nudging will only get worse).

When everything is slipping through your fingers, let it go. When you’ve lost a job, let it go. Come up for air and look around you at the big picture of your life. Ask: “What did I really come here to do?” (It’s always bigger, better and more meaningful than what you’ve been doing.)

Wouldn’t it be better if the world didn’t have to nudge you (sometimes painfully) to get on-path? Wouldn’t you prefer to see the road yourself and move forward through its twists and turns fearlessly – along the journey you already signed up for?

Sit down and meditate. Feel your own vibration pulsing from you. Listen to your inner GPS unit saying, “Turn Left.” You have quiet dreams, desires and truths that you’ve stuffed away to fit in – especially if you’ve spent years working in a corporate environment. The more you can quiet the chatter of your mind, the more you’ll get back in touch with the real you – the naked you who came here on purpose.

Look around you at those people living “charmed lives.” Chances are they’re just living true to their pre-designed paths.
Your path is completely different from everyone else’s. Your truth will only come from within you – not from looking at what anyone else is up to. When you look at your neighbor and say, “I want to do what he does for a living,” you’re forgetting your own unique journey that you chose long ago. As we look around us at what others are doing, we lose our way.

When you’re firmly on your unique path, you feel impassioned by your life and work – no matter what anyone else is doing, and no matter what anyone thinks of you. Abundance flows to you, and your life is in  harmony. When you’re not living true to what you signed up for – nothing works well – not even relationships. Here are five steps to get you back on path.

5 steps to take when you’ve just been nudged:

1.    LET GO! Open your hands and let it slip away. Quit grasping. Don’t be desperate. That’s a bad vibration, and it doesn’t get you anywhere worth going.

2.    Meditate: Listen to your inner GPS device. Stop listening to what everybody around you is saying. Your soul knows the answer because your soul planned the journey. Your best friend doesn’t know your path, and neither does your spouse.

3.    Trust: The new path will reveal itself when the time is right. In spite of how things may seem right now, divine order is always in action. If it feels like nothing is working like it used to – release it all. Make room for the new. (Schedule a Career Intuitive Session with me to help you move forward).

4.    Appreciate the divine dance we’re all doing – nudging each other to keep on path. What a truly elegant universe this is! Remember the last time you were nudged and where it might have gotten you.

5.    Live naked! The ultimate work you came here to do is the first impulse you had as a child when you were open, innocent, intuitive and still true to yourself. Get back to that naked innocence and be the true you. Your life will flow forward gracefully again.

Full Moon for Sep. 4th 2009

With the full moon approaching, it is said that it is a GREAT time to release negativity you may have out into Mother Earth.  It is a time of letting go.  This is called Esbats.

Esbats are regular meetings of the witches coven or circle that is traditionally held during the full moon approximately thirteen times a year.  The Esbat should not be confused with the Sabbat, which takes place eight times within the course of a year and corresponds with the seasonal cycle of Sun and Earth. Esbats are a little different from sabbats. Generally, not as much preparation and ritual goes into celebrating them. Some Wiccans, like me, consider them to be the rituals held on the nights of the full moon throughout the year, for a total of 13 Esbats in all. Others believe them to be days or nights set aside for magickal workings. Here, any moon phase can be used for an Esbat, depending upon your need at the time.  Being I am a solitary, I do rituals on my own that do not require the Esbats yet hold the same ideals.

The full moon completes the cycle, representing death, change, or tying up loose ends. The full moon symbolizes the end chapter, shedding light on the things that we no longer need to hold on to.

Full Moon is an opportune time of the month for purging rituals to take place. The light the full moon offers illuminates those things that are interfering with our spiritual advancements. Once we have become enlightened to ways that are blocking us, the easier to let go. The full moon ritual is for releasing or purging the things in our lives that no longer serve us such as addictions to food, drugs, or sex, relinquishing suffering involved in hurtful relationships, discharging physical and emotional pains, etc.

At the Full Moon, the energy builds and builds….there’s an explosive outgoing aspect to it. All of nature grows and is more vital at the full Moon. This surge allows you to take action on behalf of those new Moon intentions you set two week prior. A full Moon ritual might involve taking one solid step, with a symbolic action. And it can be a powerful time to release, cast out, unburden yourself, purge, etc. You celebrate your emergence by stepping out of an old skin, identity, behavior, attitude, relationship. The ritual helps you by marking this inner transformation in a formal way.

A full Moon ritual might involve purification by one of the elements. Most often, it’s fire, and done by casting something you don’t want into the flames. One idea: 1) Write what you’re releasing down on a stick. 2) resolve to let go as you throw it into the fire. 3) Throw the stick into the fire. This can be done as a group, with everyone sitting ’round the fire…or in your own private ceremony. Each person can seal their action of letting go by speaking it aloud, if there’s trust in the circle.

Water can be used to cleanse in rituals. I remember a very meaningful full Moon ceremony I had at my house with three other women. We had filled a blue bowl with water and some rose petals. Each of us wrote down what we wanted to draw into our lives on a piece of paper. After we read them aloud, we put our hands in the bowl to signify the cleansing of the old, to open to the new. It’s still one of my favorite memories. Mainly it worked because we all trusted each other to be open hearted and share our dreams. When that’s there, you can evoke the magic of shifting consciousness at will because the support is palpable.

Full Moon Release Ritual
Items you’ll need: Floating candles, a large bowl, water, matches, a pen.

  • 1. Create sacred space with candles, sage smudging, and setting up altars with powerful totems. For some rituals, I’ll use an owl’s wing that a friend gave me, to represent wisdom.
  • 2. If possible, stand or sit under the Moon. Allow yourself to feel a direct relationship to it, as a mover of the living waters of the Earth and within our own bodies.
  • 3. Do a grounding exercise, to bring you out of the chatter of small talk and into ritual space. Feel the earth under your feet and shake out the tension in the body.
  • 4. Place the large water-filled bowl in front of you, or in the middle of your gathering on a table.
  • 5. Each person writes what they’re releasing on the floating candle. It’s not important that it shows up, just that the intention is there.
  • 6. As you place the candle into the bowl, declare what you’re releasing.
  • 7. Light the candle.
  • 8. Allow yourself to feel the transfer of what you’re releasing to the candle. As a group focus on letting go into the water, holding hands if that feels right.
  • 9. Celebrate this release by sharing a feast under the full Moon!

Allow the candle to keep burning in the bowl as a symbol of the letting go process. The flame is a purifier, and symbolizes the sparks of inspiration as well. If you blow out your floating candle, and your bowl is in your home, relighting it will remind you of your commitment. Place inspiring pictures and totems around it that remind you of whom you’re becoming. Above all, give yourself kudos for honoring your own growth.

An Unexpected Situation

I was talking to my friend about her upcoming tattoo.  A little background.  My friend, we will say Jackie, is someone I use to go to the same church with.  She was in her click and I was just there.  Well, we got back into contact since she lives right down the road and we found out we have quite a bit in common.  Plus, I know her hubby as well so it works out.

Well, we were talking in text messages and she was talking about her tattoo. I mentioned that when I got my money I was getting mine and she asked what I was getting.  I told her I was getting the chakras to reward myself for my level II Reiki and plan on going to my master when time comes. She asked who taught me and I mentioned my Master lived in Charlotte.  My phone rang.  She started flipping out because she didn’t know I was into ‘that sort of think’ and she has been looking someone to teach her Reiki.  She said she has been healing herself and her family for a while.  The instructor of their do jo is a level I and told her he wasn’t able to teach her because he wasn’t that informed about it.  I reminded her only master’s really can teach.

We got to talking and I was telling her about Reiki and some of the details.  She opened up and told me that she sees lights around people.  She mentioned that one night we were at the house and she saw 2 lights around Mikey on the same side and she was use to seeing them on opposite sides or in other areas.  She didn’t know if they are twins and I mentioned Thomas’ mom is a twin and I have twins on my side but I didn’t know why they were on the same side.

She also mentioned that at church when we were younger, she stayed away from me because I was ‘weird’ moreso of the fact of my energy.  ALSO, when I go walking I almost ALWAYS end up stopping in their driveway talking.  She said that EVERYTIME we talk, she has to literally step back from me because she felt she was being drawn into me.  It scared her because she didn’t know if it is a good or bad thing.

I know that everything happens for a reason.  I don’t know if I am meant to teach her or bring her before you and Diana to see if either of you are suppose to be her teacher.  She is reluctant to embrace her abilities of mediumship, Reiki etc.  Everyone she mentions anything to thinks she is weird.

I’m just curious if you can decipher what she was saying and what feelings you get.  Once I get back from out of town I plan on getting together with her.  I have been looking someone to do things spiritually with because I know the more the better the energy but I’m not sure.

Things following into place….

I have tried my best to think things though in what I need to do, my calling.  I have been in school for a while trying to get a degree only to feel that I am going no where.  Yes, it would be great to have a degree in something but it should really consist of something I truly want to do.

With that aside, I have been concentrating on my Reiki and realized that IS my true calling, along with my other potential abilities.  Reiki appears to be what I am meant to do, and meant to start thinking hard about it.  Ever since I used it on my son when he was on his death bed, I have been thinking about it.  Even though I did not cure him I was able to help him little by little as I laid my hands on him and felt the warmth and energy flow out of my body into his little body.  It made me feel that even though I could not physically see it, I WAS making a difference.

I also realized that I was getting a non-wanting degree in fear of what others would think when in reality I have always wanted to get a degree that involved my spirituality.  I have always been analytical, questioning why things are done the way they are, why people do what they do, etc.  I finally realized that if I intend on getting a degree, I should do philosophy which helps in my spirituality and in my way of thinking.

With the stars being currently out of line I have felt the spinning and confusion in my mind.  I have been everywhere at once and felt as though I could jump out of my skin.  With that being said, I can feel things changes for the better and I can’t wait to progress on.

I now plan on meditating if I can as well as look at colleges.
